KEY POINTS

  • Duncan Robinson could help address the Lakers' lack of shooting
  • The Lakers may not have tempting assets that would let them acquire Robinson
  • The Lakers have now lost four-straight games

The Los Angeles Lakers absorbed their fourth-straight defeat in the ongoing regular season at the hands of the.

Everybody is pointing at Russell Westbrook as the problem, but as it turned out, the franchise's problems go beyond the nine-time All-Star.

Glancing at the game stats of the Lakers' dismal outing Nuggets, 99-110, it is the inability of the Lakers on the offensive end that needs addressing.

They shot 44.4% from the field and 26.7% from beyond the arc, a department that Los Angeles needs to direly address.

Hence, the Lakers may have to take another look at the free-agent market or other teams who would be willing to part ways with their players.

One name that could make sense is Duncan Robinson of the Miami Heat.

After putting together two outstanding shooting seasons that resulted in him being rewarded with a five-year deal worth, $90 million, the 28-year-old struggled after that and this resulted in him being taken out of the Heat's starting lineup.

Playing with a chip on his shoulder per a report by Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Robinson is out for redemption this 2022-23 season.

However, that has hardly been felt with the 6-foot-7 cager averaging only 6.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and an assist in 11.8 minutes of action.

Shooting-wise, Robinson has been averaging 60% from the field and 50% from the three-point region.

As far as three-point shooting is concerned, his attempts have severely diminished, taking only three attempts from beyond the arc.

Speaking to PTV Sports, American journalist and book author Roland Lazenby suggests that the Lakers could be a good team for Robinson to go to.

"I don't know about any impending trade. But you can imagine a Duncan Robinson in Miami who shot the ball well. He's not as in the rotation of Miami as he has been. But if Miami parts with a weapon like that, I don't know what the Lakers could offer any team like Miami," Lazenby stated.

"It will be interesting how they get out of this because it is a big, ugly Halloween mess for the Lakers."
