Ed Sheeran’s net worth is around $200 million. His newborn baby will most likely inherit most of her father’s fortunes when the right time comes.

Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their daughter named Lyra Antarctica on Tuesday. The singer announced the news on his social media account. In the meantime, Sheeran is taking a hiatus from making music and touring, probably to focus more on his growing family. He said that he had been touring non-stop since 2017 and it was time to see the world more, per a post on his Instagram account in December 2019. That break was much deserved considering how hard he worked in the past years.

The “Shape Of You” songwriter earned $64 million in 2020. According to Forbes, his “Divide Tour” is considered the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. From 2017 to 2019, it fetched a total of $775 million, besting the record once set by U2’s “360° Tour.”

Born Edward Christopher Sheeran, Ed Sheeran started doing music as early as 2004 to 2005 but it was only in 2011 that he caught the attention of music experts and fans, thanks to the opportunity Jamie Foxx gave him in 2010. Several no.1 hits later, which included “Shape of You,” “Take Me Back to London,” and “Sing,” among others, and the Halifax, England native is now one of the highest paid celebrities of his generation.

Because of his likeable personality, a lot of notable musicians have collaborated with him. Among them are Eminem, Justine Bieber, Khalid, Meek Mill, Cardi B and Young Thug.

Due to his global appeal, it seems anything that the 29-year-old touches turns to gold. His love for Heinz Ketchup is an open secret, Sheeran sports a Heinz bottle tattoo on his bicep, and it eventually led to an actual TV ad. Although it is not revealed if there is an official deal between them, another brand which has been raking it in is Hoax, a clothing brand for surfers and skaters. Since Sheeran began wearing them in concerts, international demand for Hoax shirts skyrocketed, Hoax managing director Jason Carter revealed in a report from East Anglian Daily Times.

When not busy touring, Sheeran is involved in acting for TV shows and movies. He has appeared in two Australian soap operas and an episode in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. On the other hand, his film credits feature “Bridget Jones's Baby” and “Yesterday,” which was released in 2019.
