KEY POINTS

  • Rennala is arguably the easiest of all the demigod fights in "Elden Ring"
  • Her attacks are easy to dodge but hit very hard
  • Rennala's spirit summons can be largely disregarded

After surviving the veritable onslaught that was Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle, “Elden Ring” players will be glad to know that the second demigod boss, Rennala, isn’t quite as difficult.

Rennala, the Queen of the Full Moon, is one of the easier bosses in “Elden Ring.” However, she can still give players problems if they don’t know what they’re doing. Here’s a quick guide on how to fight this boss and a few tips on how to make the encounter easier on all fronts.

How to beat Rennala in “Elden Ring”

The first phase of Rennala’s boss fight is more of a thematic experience, similar to the Deacons of the Deep in “Dark Souls 3.” Here, players need to find and kill the singing child in the room while avoiding flying furniture. Every now and then, Rennala will hurl debris that can instantly kill players who don’t have enough HP. Avoid these attacks and keep looking for the children.

Using a Spirit Summon in this phase can make it go by much quicker as the ghost can take all of the enemy aggro in the player’s stead.

Once three singers have been dealt with, Rennala will lose her shield and fall to the ground. Use any means necessary to deal as much damage as possible to prevent another cycle of seek-and-destroy.

The second boss phase is much more active. Rennala will start using powerful spells that can quickly kill players, and halfway through the fight, she will summon spirits of her own. The best strategy here is to be hyper-aggressive, as Rennala’s HP pool is relatively low and she is very prone to getting staggered.

It’s better to sprint through Rennala’s tracking spells instead of dodging to help conserve stamina for big attacks.

Recommended Loadouts

Pure sorcery builds may have the most trouble in this boss fight due to the overall FP cost from the first and second phases. Rennala also casts spells faster than players can. Try to use fast spells like Glintstone Pebble or Ambush Shard in this fight.

For melee players, try to stick to Rennala as much as possible to prevent her from using her more powerful attacks. Bleed weapons are also great in this fight as they can help chew through the boss’ health much more quickly.
