“Elite” Season 1 ended with a shocking finale, but at least fans get to finally learn who really killed Marina (Maria Pedraza) and what led to the bloody murder. When the Netflix teen drama returns later this year, we hope that it will answer these five burning questions.

Warning: This article contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen “Elite” Season 1 yet, it’s best to steer clear of this report until you’ve finished all eight episodes.

1. Will Nano really go to jail for the murder of his girlfriend?

Nano (Jaime Lorente) obviously didn’t kill Marina [SPOILER: It was Polo, played by Álvaro Rico.], but Samuel’s (Itzán Escamilla) testimony made it seem like he did. So then we saw Nano getting arrested in the finale while he’s still clearly mourning over his girlfriend’s death. It hasn’t been that long since he got out of prison, so we’re hoping that the legal proceedings would go in his favor.

Nano’s best friend, Christian (Miguel Herrán), knows that he wouldn’t be capable of murdering Marina since he was well aware of their plan to elope. But then again Christian was offered by Carla (Ester Expósito) a spot in the elite class and the final Season 1 scene showed him leaving Samuel behind, so this could also be telling that he’s willing to abandon his friends for the perks of being one of the rich and popular kids in school.

2. Why was Samuel covered in blood in the finale?

Season 1 started and ended with a scene showing Samuel drenched in Marina’s blood, but then it wasn’t revealed how he got the blood stains. When he saw Nano running away from the pool, he was yards away from the murder scene and had just put on his Las Encinas uniform.

We hope “Elite” Season 2 could at least show us how Samuel ended up covered in Marina’s blood. Police were initially suspicious since Samuel was not only present when they arrived on the murder scene, he also looked a bit remorseful while in a state of shock. If police would take a look into his testimony, would they find something more shocking about the night of the murder?

3. What does the all-important watch contain?

Marina’s death was all because of the watch that Nano stole from Ester’s father (Rubén Martinez). But then even Marina’s father (Ramón Esquinas) was very worried when the timepiece went missing. What could be so important in the watch that that the two were so eager to retrieve it and keep it away from the public?

Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) already had a glimpse of his and Marina’s father shady business. So the files in the watch could be about that. It’s also possible that the concealed documents contain vital information on the public school that collapsed, which forced Samuel, Christian and Nadia (Mina El Hammani) to study in Las Encinas through a scholarship program.

4. Is Nadia coming back to Las Encinas?

Lu (Danna Paola) and Guzmán may have gotten back together based on their intense hug and kiss in the Season 1 finale. So it could be hard to see Guzmán and Nadia reunite in the premiere episode of the upcoming season. Love triangle aside, we’re hoping Nadia could stay in Las Encinas when “Elite” returns later this year.

If not, then perhaps she could go to Florida. After all, she was in the running to be the No. 1 student of Las Encinas. Both she and Lu were, actually. But with Lu’s suspension, the title was given to Marina. Since Marina’s dead, perhaps the school could offer it to Nadia? In case you missed it, the top student is given the chance to study in Florida the following year.

5. Are Ander and Omar going to end up together?

Ander (Arón Piper) and Omar (Omar Ayuso) have already said “I love you” to each other. However, Ander and Nadia’s father Yusef (Abdelatif Hwidar) is very homophobic and unaccepting of his son’s sexual orientation. But then this didn’t stop the two from sharing lovey-dovey moments when he’s not around. Even Nadia approves of it and is helping them cover up their ongoing romance.

From the looks of things, Yusef could still force Omar into marrying a woman. Omar may have gotten away from the prospect of marrying a local girl named Zahira, but Yusef made it clear that he’ll be looking for another possible candidate. We hope Ander won’t let this happen in the next season because Ander-Omar shippers are dying to see more sweet moments between the two.
