Filming for “Elite” Season 2 is underway with the returning cast updating their social media with clips from the set of the Spanish Netflix series. Interestingly, actress Maria Pedraza has voiced her desire to join the cast once again.

Warning: This article contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen “Elite” Season 1 yet, it’s best to steer clear of this report until you’ve finished all eight episodes.

In the first season of the teen drama/crime series, fans saw Pedraza’s Marina get entangled in a complicated relationship with Samuel (Itzán Escamilla) and his older brother, Nano (Jaime Lorente).

The aftermath of the messy heist the trio pulled on Carla’s (Ester Expósito) father led the latter’s ex-boyfriend, Polo (Álvaro Rico), to smash the scholarship trophy over Marina’s head, causing her to bleed to death by the Las Encinas pool.

While it was made clear since the show’s first episode that Pedraza’s character would be dead in the finale, fans are hopeful to see more of the actress in the upcoming season. Even Pedraza herself is up for reprising her role as Marina, who was very essential to the development of the first season’s storyline.

Last month, Pedraza was asked by Formula TV if there’s a possibility of Marina showing up in the sophomore run of the hit series. The 23-year-old actress coyly responded, “I can’t talk about this for now, but I would love to.”

This week, the returning cast members updated fans of the show about the ongoing production on the second season via Instagram Stories. Some of the clips they shared have made their way to the @EliteNetflix fan account on Twitter. Check them out below.

Apart from Escamilla, Lorente, Expósito and Rico, Danna Paola (who plays Lu), Miguel Bernardeau (Guzman), Miguel Herrán (Christian), Arón Piper (Ander), Omar Ayuso (Omar) and Mina El Hammani (Nadia) are also returning.

In mid-January, Netflix released an eerie teaser clip for “Elite” Season 2 that introduced new cast members Jorge Lopez, Georgina Amorós and Claudia Salas.

“Elite” Season 2, which has been confirmed to have eight episodes, is scheduled to launch sometime later this year. No specific date was given so far.

The first season premiered on Oct. 5, 2018. The show was quickly picked up for another season in mid-October after gaining positive reviews from TV critics in Spain and abroad, according to Variety.
