On Jan. 26, comedian Ellen Degeneres will celebrate her birthday. The beloved host of "The Ellen Degeneres Show" has achieved quite a bit of success in her career, including her popular talk show, past sitcoms, and other endeavors. How rich is she as she celebrates turning 62?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the host is worth $490 million and has an estimated $75 million annual income. As stated by the publication, DeGeneres' career started when she would work nights at New Orleans comedy clubs. Eventually, she had the opportunity to tour nationally, and, in 1982, Showtime named her the Funniest Person in America.

From there, she began appearing on shows as "The Tonight Show." She would then land her own sitcom in 1994, "Ellen," and begin hosting "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in 2003.

Aside from the aforementioned efforts, DeGeneres has also made a variety of other television appearances over the years, including starring on "Sesame Street" in 2007, where she played herself and judging Season 9 of "American Idol" in 2010. She has also appeared at several awards shows, including the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012 and The 55th Annual Grammy Awards in 2013.

As for how the TV personality spends her money, Architectural Digest reports that her and her wife, "Arrested Development" star Portia de Rossi, have bought and sold upwards of 20 properties since 2003, including a "$27 million on a five-bedroom, 10-bathroom Balinese-style Montecito mansion in 2019.
