Team Liquid is officially disbanding and the once-dominant squad will forever be immortalized in the hearts of worldwide "Dota 2" fans.

The news was announced by the team's co-CEO Victor Goossens today. Team Liquid won became a worldwide phenomenon after winning the title at The International 7. They also recently came in at second place this year TI9.

Sadly all of the team's pro players are leaving the organization. Maroun "GH" Merhej, Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi, Ivan Borislavov, "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi, and Aliwi "w33" are said to build their own esports organizations this year.

It's still unclear if the whole squad will compete together as part of a new team, granted that each is planning in building their dynasties.

Liquid's announcement came to a shock for many of its fans, but the organization said that the players are leaving in mutual agreement. Goossens bared that he sat down with "Kuroky and Mohamed to talk about our future together."

The co-CEO, unfortunately, shared that the players are looking to "pursue their ambition and dream of starting their own organization."

Team Liquid will now build a new "Dota 2" roster and will continue to compete in future esports tournaments. Goossens said that they would "absolutely want to re-commit and start a new project for the long-run."

Team Liquid will try to acquire a world-class roster; he appended that its "a very complicated process." However, Goossens didn't clarify if they will be looking at other top players from other esports organizations. It's also possible that they'll look for fresh talents.

He added that "Dota 2" is "definitely a game and also community." The news comes days after Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka revealed that he's not sure if OG's roster will stay together for the next season of DPC.
