Fans of “The Amazing Race” are still going to have to settle in and wait a while for Season 31 of the CBS series, but there is some information that has been revealed about the show which may make the wait less of a struggle.

Here’s everything we know so far about the new season of “The Amazing Race.”

The Show Returns In May 2019:

CBS recently confirmed the premiere date for the season in a press release announcing midseason programming. The show will come back beginning on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 8 p.m. EST, and will take over the slot following the conclusion of the newest season of “Survivor.”

The Cast Will Consist Of ‘Big Brother,’ ‘Amazing Race’ And ‘Survivor’ Alums

Phil Keoghan confirmed that the cast of the new season would feature familiar faces from the entire slate of CBS reality competition shows at the race’s starting line earlier this year. In his post, Keoghan teased that the battle would finally determine which show rang supreme.

But “BB20” Power Couple Tangela Won’t Be Among Them

Tyler Crispen and Angela Rummans officially shot down rumors they would be participating in the new season of “Amazing Race.” The pair confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that they are not involved (filming on the season actually concluded in early July, while ‘Big Brother’ didn’t conclude until September).

A New Twist Will Be In The Competition

According to Reality Fan Forum, the show introduced a new twist in Season 31 called the “Extreme Roadblock,” which one team could use against another to either force them to complete a task under either more strenuous circumstances or to a higher level of completion.

The Winners Are ‘Amazing Race’ Alums

Following the conclusion of filming, it was revealed which three teams made it to the final leg, and all were former “Amazing Race” alums. It was unclear which team may have wound up winning, however.

“Amazing Race” Season 31 premieres in May 2019.
