  • NBA offers free League Pass access for one month
  • Package includes access to classic games
  • NFL initiated the free access to League Pass

The NBA sure knows how bad it feels for a fan to turn his TV on with no basketball action to catch. With the resumption of the 2019-2020 season still in limbo, the league announced on Wednesday that fans can replay all the games this year as it will be offering free access to NBA League Pass until April 22, which will also include access to all-time classic games in the league’s archives.

“The evolving situation around the coronavirus has been challenging for everyone, and we hope that you are taking appropriate precautions to ensure that you and your family stay safe and healthy,” the NBA wrote as it addressed its fans. “Limiting social interactions is a critical way to minimize the spread of this virus, but staying home for long periods of time can be difficult. With the 2019-20 NBA season on hiatus, the NBA and Turner Sports are providing all fans with a free preview of NBA League Pass, the league’s premium subscription-based product, until April 22. This complimentary offering will provide you with access to full length and condensed replays of all games from the 2019-20 season, as well as an expansive archive of classic games and content.”

Commissioner Adam Silver initially announced that the NBA could be suspended for at least 30 days before the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that “large events and mass gatherings" such as sporting events be postponed for eight weeks.

The news was tormenting for sports followers in general, the majority of whom are stuck inside their homes because of the health scare brought by the Coronavirus. That’s why having the NBA back on their screens – albeit just reruns – is definitely a welcome sight.

This special offer came shortly after the NFL first announced that their games will also be available in League Pass for free, and fans could not be more ecstatic.
