Eddie Redmayne is no longer the only actor in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” Katherine Waterston has been cast as his character Newt Scamander’s love interest in the Warner Bros. film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Waterston, 35, will portray Porpentina, a woman who “plays a pivotal role during [Newt’s] adventures in New York City.” However, "Harry Potter" fans know that Porpentina – who often goes by Tina – will play a pivotal role in the rest of his life. She is his wife.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” stems from a “Harry Potter” companion book of the same title. J.K. Rowling wrote the book as a dictionary of magical creatures made to look like one of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley’s textbooks, the profits of which went to charity. While not a ton of information was given about Scamander in the book, the author’s biography revealed his family.

“Newt Scamander was awarded the Order of Merlin, Second Class, in 1979 in recognition of his services to the study of magical beasts, Magizoology,” the biographical section of the book reads. “Now retired, he lives in Dorset with his wife, Porpentina, and their pet Kneazles: Hoppy, Milly, and Mauler.”

Rowling is writing a trilogy of films following Newt’s adventures. She has already revealed that the story will take place in New York and it will introduce an American wizarding school. It's unclear where his story will end, but the films have the potential to even follow his and Porpentina’s son Rolf, who marries Harry Potter’s friend Luna Lovegood.

Waterston is the first character cast in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” besides Redmayne. Waterston’s credits include “Boardwalk Empire” and “Inherent Vice.” David Yates will direct the pair.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is set to be released on November 18, 2016. Do you think Waterson and Redmayne make a good couple? Sound off in the comments section below!
