With “Fear the Walking Dead” returning for its highly anticipated second season in April, fans are left wondering what’s in store for the characters after surviving the initial walker outbreak in Los Angeles. Now, some new casting is giving fans a small understanding about what to expect from Season 2.

Two actors have been tapped for recurring roles on the “Walking Dead” companion series when it returns in April. The first is the former star of the 2015 horror hit “It Follows,” Daniel Zovatto. According to Yahoo, AMC has officially booked the 24-year-old actor for the show, but isn’t yet revealing any information about his character. As a result, fans are left guessing whether or not he’ll be an ally to the survivors or some kind of villain on the high seas. Previously, Zovatto has appeared on TV in guest roles on shows like “Revenge” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

In addition to Zovatto’s casting, Deadline reports that the record-breaking AMC drama also cast “Ride Along 2” actor Arturo Del Puerto. His role, unlike Zovatto’s, has a little bit more information. According to the outlet, he’ll play a character named Carlos, a guarded man that possesses a deep respect and understanding for the spiritual aspects of the world.

It was previously reported that “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 2 would take place on the water. After the survivors escaped the National Guard’s nightmare quarantine base, the mysterious Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) showed them his luxury yacht. Season 2 will see the now battle-hardened group try to adapt to life away from the main land. In fact, AMC teased as much with the release of the first official image of the new season that came in conjunction with its premiere date.

While their introduction is exciting, Zovatto and Puerto aren’t the only ones joining the companion series when it returns. Throughout Season 6 of “The Walking Dead,” the network has been releasing small snippets of a 16-part web series titled “Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462.” The series focuses on a group of people on a plane that slowly realize there are walkers on board. When the events of “Flight 462” have finally played out, one surviving character will make his or her way to the recurring cast of “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 2, which currently includes Domingo, Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Mercedes Mason, Lorenzo James Henrie and Rubén Blades. However, the network has given no clues as to which of the “Flight” passengers will survive.
