Keiynan Lonsdale as Kid Flash
Keiynan Lonsdale teased Wally and Jesse’s (Violett Beane) new dynamic when the two meet again in Season 3, episode 13 of “The Flash.” The CW

Jesse (Violett Beane) is surprised when she finds out that Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) is now a speedster as well. Their new dynamic, however, creates some tension between them, which makes their reunion in the next episode of “The Flash” out of ordinary.

“It brings a new dynamic for sure,” Lonsdale told Variety of how his speedster status affects Wally and Jesse’s relationship. “She’s surprised, and as all relationships, things get a bit rocky. We have to get through some things, but for Wally he’s excited to finally be a speedster and share that with her.”

In a separate interview with TV Guide, Lonsdale said that viewers are “definitely” going to get more romantic moments between Wally and Jesse moving forward. But before that, the two have to deal first with the fact that both of them now have super speed.

“Where we left off last time, they were in a good place, but now also we have to deal with the fact that Wally has powers,” the Australian actor said. “And last time they connected, Jesse was the one with powers. So it's going to bring up different dynamics and it will be interesting for fans to watch.”

The synopsis for Season 2, episode 13 of “The Flash” reveals that Jesse travels from Earth-2 to Earth-1 to inform Team Flash that her dad, Harry (Tom Cavanagh), has been abducted. To save Harry from Gorilla City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) go to Earth-2 on a rescue mission.

The quartet, however, is immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov), who asks for their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David) — the leader of Gorilla City — from his plans to invade Earth-1.

Meanwhile, Jesse decides to stay on Earth-1 to help Wally take down a metahuman that can control gravity. With most of the team gone, H.R. (Cavanagh) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) are forced to guide the young speedsters from S.T.A.R. Labs.

“The Flash” Season 3, episode 13, titled “Attack on Gorilla City,” airs on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
