The promo trailer for episode 17 hints that Barry has started suspecting the actions of imposter Iris. In the trailer, Barry tells Iris that she is not his wife. He announces that the real Iris is out there somewhere.

Later, it looks like imposter Iris wants to show Barry who she is. One of the shots shows CCTV footage of Barry sitting with an otherworldly creature and it appears that it is imposter Iris.

Gustin spoke with Entertainment Weekly and shared that Barry will be the first one to find the actions of imposter Iris odd.

“Barry is the first person to eventually start to get suspicious that there’s something going on with Iris and kind of confronting that and bringing it up with her results in some tension and a pretty big confrontation at one point,” Gustin said.

He added that fans can expect a “pretty big fallout” between the two. Gustin warned that their relationship is “going to change drastically just because of this Mirror-Iris element.”

It will be interesting to see how the dynamics between Barry and Iris change as the season nears its conclusion.
