“Flip or Flop” star Christina Anstead and husband Ant Anstead's marriage problems began long before they announced their split last week, a report said.

A source told People that Christina and Ant “started having conflicts” last year after they welcomed their son, Hudson, in September 2019. The real estate guru has two more kids, Brayden and Taylor, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, while the British TV presenter shares two children, Archie and Amelie, with former wife Louise Herbert.

The insider said that despite having a blended family, Christina still felt “lonely and unhappy” and that “their marriage was struggling.”

“Christina found it difficult to balance everything,” the tipster said, adding that the “Christina on the Coast” star “never expected to get a divorce.”

On Friday, Sept. 18, Christina announced on Instagram that she and Ant decided to go their separate ways less than two years after tying the knot. She didn’t reveal the reason why they decided to separate but asked for privacy for them and their families.

“Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,” she wrote.

According to the People source, Christina is doing good and is focusing on her kids. She recently celebrated daughter Taylor's 10th birthday with a Paris-themed party.

Christina and the “For the Love of Cars” star exchanged vows back in December 2018 in a winter wonderland-themed wedding at Newport Beach, California. They started dating a year after she split from El Moussa.

News of their separation came as a shock not only to fans but also their close friends, who were surprised to learn of their breakup, Us Weekly reported.

A source told the publication that Christina and Ant’s inner circle were shocked because they seemed happy in public and in front of other people. Her ex-husband, meanwhile, feels for her.

“Tarek is sad that Christina is going through a hard time. But [he] did not think that Christina and Ant would last,” the source shared.

Fans flooded Ant’s social media account and sent messages of support following the announcement of their split.

“Heartbroken for you guys. Praying you both can work through this and find your way back to each other,” one fan wrote on the motor specialist’s last Instagram post.

“I pray you guys can make it work somehow,” another wrote on a photo taken during Ant and Christina’s wedding.
