Tarek and Christina El Moussa have ended their marriage, but the former couple will continue with their roles in hit HGTV show "Flip or Flop," according to reports.

A source close to the couple told People magazine that the two stars “are very much committed and want to continue to work together and continue the show.” Tarek and Christina announced their split in December 2016, and in early January, the former filed for divorce from his estranged wife.

In a report over the weekend, TMZ claimed that HGTV executives are going to monitor the show’s ratings before deciding whether to sign the ex-couple for more episodes. Some reports also claimed that there’s talk of a spin-off.

“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” the pair told People in a statement at the time of their split. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed.”

Here are some of the lesser known facts about the "Flip or Flop" stars:

  • Tarek and Christina went broke after the 2008 recession: "I will never forget going to Subway to split $5 footlongs from Subway because that is (sic) all we could afford," Tarek wrote on Facebook in 2016.
  • The former couple had their car stolen whole filming an episode for the HGTV show: "You can’t imagine the feeling I got when I was standing outside one of our flip houses, talking to Tarek about what color to paint the garage and I heard my car start," Christina wrote in a blog post in 2015. "It was the middle of the day, and I’d just pulled up to the worksite and parked in front of the house. I put my purse on the front porch and didn’t think about what a huge mistake I was making. While Tarek and I were talking, a guy literally grabbed my keys from my purse and drove off in our SUV."
  • Tarek and Christina's programs accused of being a scam: Some of the real estate seminars conducted by the pair came under fire in 2015 after some of those attending the workshops reportedly claimed that they were pressured into buying real estate courses that cost them between $2,000-$5,000. "I stand by our product," Christina told ABC News at the time. "It's our tools, it's our system. It's what Tarek and I do. I've only heard very minimal complaints."
  • Tarek's cancer was brought to light by a fan: Tarek's life was saved after a fan reportedly emailed the show pointing at a suspicious lump on his throat, which later turned out to be cancer. Last week, Tarek said on his Instagram account that he still remains cancer free after receiving treatment.
  • Christina's second pregnancy was difficult: Tarek's cancer treatment became the cause of his infertility due to which Christina had to undergo in-vitro fertilization for their second baby. "I pushed HARD for 2 hours but his shoulders were stuck and his heart rate kept dropping," she wrote in a blog post. "In the end, I had to go in for an emergency c-section."
