“Flip or Flop” reality star Tarek El Moussa shared good news with his fans: He’s cancer-free. The HGTV fixer upper, who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2013, took to Instagram Thursday to update his followers.

“Having cancer is a very scary thing,” El Moussa, 35, penned. “I always get nervous going into each check up and today I got GREAT news!! Having no thyroid and balancing medications is tough! I'm finally at UCLA and I'm on the right doses of medication.. People don't know but I was very over medicated with rapid heart rate and palpitations to the point where I wore a heart rate monitor... It really messed me up but today everything is dialed and I finally feel great after 3 years!!”

The post was liked more than 15,000 times by his 148,000 followers.

A viewer, who was a registered nurse, noticed El Moussa ha a lump on his throat and told producers the reality star should have it checked out. After the cancer discovery, El Moussa had his lymph nodes removed and underwent radiation treatment.

For the picture on his Instagram post, El Moussa shared a screenshot of a text from his doctor. “So far all labs look great,” his doctor wrote. “Nothing to suggest any badness from your thyroid cancer which is great news. I'll let you know any other results as I get them.”

The doctor added: “Your ultrasound was pristine. No thyroid issue and nothing suspicious in your neck. It is great news.”

While the development is great news, not everything in El Moussa’s life is perfect. He split from his wife, Christina, in May after seven years of marriage.

The couple broke up after a bizarre incident that involved El Moussa taking a gun into the woods an nearly a dozen cop cars being dispatched to find him. Rumors swirled that the HGTV reality star was suicidal, but he claimed he brought the firearm into the woods to protect himself against wild animals.

The future of “Flip or Flop” is unknown. For now, new episodes that were filmed before the couple’s public split air Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on HGTV.
