A Florida woman has allegedly stabbed her toddler child to death and injured her teen daughter and husband before turning the knife on herself.

The incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. Monday, police said. Officers responded to multiple reports of stabbing at a residence in the area of Northwest 30th Avenue and 99th Street, Miami-Dade.

Inside the home, officers found the 38-year-old suspect's 15-month-old daughter with critical injuries. The toddler was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta told Miami Herald. Authorities did not reveal further details on the nature of injuries sustained by the toddler.

The woman, whom the police have not publicly identified, allegedly stabbed her 16-year-old daughter and 38-year-old husband as well. Responding officers found the husband with stab wounds on the front lawn. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old daughter was at the neighbor's house when the police arrived.

The couple had a total of six children in the house. The other four children, all under the age of 11, were able to escape the property without any injury.

When officers tried to enter the residence, the mother came out with an apparent self-inflicted stab wound injury. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect without any further incident, reported WTVJ. The woman was taken to a hospital as well, where she is being treated for her injuries. Currently, she is in police custody. Zabaleta told the Herald that the woman would face "very serious criminal charges."

According to the police, the husband and the teen were taken by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. No details about the extent of injuries suffered by the two victims were revealed either.

"It is unclear what sparked this violence," Zabaleta said. "It's a very sad day when a 15-month old loses her life to domestic violence, but considering there were six children in the house, this could have been much worse."

In June, a 23-year-old Texas woman was arrested for stabbing her 7-year-old daughter more than 30 times. The woman, identified as Troyshaye Hall, also stabbed a 16-year-old teen. Hall's mother and brother reportedly tried to restrain her before the rampage, but the mother ended up getting injured during the struggle. Hall was charged with capital murder.
