Former champion boxer Floyd Mayweather may not regularly compete in the ring anymore, but it seems like he still throws extravagant birthday parties for himself every year. The man who occasionally goes by “Money” Mayweather turned 42 on Sunday.

In years past, Mayweather has made headlines for how big and expensive his birthday celebrations and gifts can be. Last year, he bought himself a private jet and showed it off on social media, according to TMZ. It was his third private jet and came complete with an “Air Mayweather” logo on the TV screen.

The year before that, Mayweather celebrated his 40th year on Earth with a massive party featuring performances by both Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber. Carey sang “Happy Birthday” at the Los Angeles event.

Mayweather celebrated his 42nd birthday this year at the Sunset Room in Hollywood, though it made headlines for very different reasons this time around. TMZ reported that rapper Tyga got into a dispute with someone else at the party, to the point where security tried to escort him out of the club.

Tyga apparently reached for the security guard’s handgun during the scuffle, but he was not able to get it. The situated de-escalated and Tyga left the party. The source of the hostility was not clear.

Mayweather is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan and finished his career with a 50-0 record. He won a bronze medal boxing for Team USA at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He is one of the highest paid professional athletes in recent memory and frequently headlined pay-per-view fights during his career.

He was also the subject of controversy on numerous occasions, perhaps the most notable of which being multiple accusations of domestic violence. By the end of his boxing career, he was a highly polarizing figure in the sports world.
