Update 1/23/20- 2:49 p.m. EST: TMZ now reports that Gwozdz died on Wednesday. The outlet stated that his body is with the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner's Office.

Original Story:

Former "The Bachelorette" contestant Tyler Gwozdz, who appeared on Hannah Brown's season of the ABC show, was recently hospitalized for a suspected overdose. The Boca Raton Police Department told TMZ that officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call of a possible drug overdose on Jan. 13.

Tyler, 29, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital where he reportedly remained in critical but stable condition for at least one week. He was no longer a patient as of Tuesday.

What Tyler potentially overdosed with is still unclear, however, according to the 911 call, which was heard by TMZ, the female caller mentioned that it may have been heroin. Tyler apparently had locked himself in a bathroom which the caller eventually broke into before authorities arrived.

The Florida native made it to week three on "The Bachelorette" and even scored a one-on-one date with Hannah before he had to leave. Why he left is still a mystery, though, popular reality television blogger, Steve Carbone (Reality Steve), speculated that producers asked him to leave after information about his past surfaced.

Despite his exit, Tyler posted about his experience when the show began airing in May 2019.

"How can you be nervous once you see that smile?" he captioned the photo of his show entrance.
