There is no official word on what is going on in the mind of LeBron James right now with the Los Angeles Lakers finding themselves yet in another period of transition. They have a new head coach in Frank Vogel, although it was the Magic Johnson conflict with current general manager Rob Pelinka that stormed headlines recently.

The naming of Vogel has raised some eyebrows, pundits who are eager to see if James can actually co-exist with a coach that he has no ties with in the past. This is the reason why most believed that Tyronn Lue would have been the perfect fit although that would have only addressed the James issue. Much of this was covered in a previous article.

Moving forward, it is business as usual for James. The three-time NBA champion was in Los Angeles recently to celebrate his John Elliott x LeBron James clothing launch. The event had many people on hand although one person who stood out was former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson.

According to TMZ Sports, Thompson was around to support his friend and to help comfort the King. The two shared a bro hug inside the store and it seemed to have helped cheer up James. Incidentally, both James and Thompson are under one player-agent in Rich Paul.

Thompson has made headlines recently although most are about his life outside the basketball court. This is in reference to the whole cheating scandal involving Kylie Jenner’s ex-friend Jordyn Woods. As far as the NBA is concerned, there is no telling if the 28-year-old big man will stay on in Ohio or play for a new team next season.

As mentioned in a previous post, Thompson has hardly proven his worth of deserving that $82 million deal he signed back in 2015. He is in the final year of that contract although the rebuilding Cavs could consider trading Thompson for someone younger that is worth the investment. So far, nothing has been mentioned although the landscape may change in the summer.

Would Thompson be a fit for the Lakers? This is one of the possibilities that could ensue once the Lakers close out their pursuit of top names. Kyrie Irving is believed to be one of the targets – meaning a potential reunion between the three is possible.

The Lakers could use someone like Thompson although he needs to shape up and recall the toughness he had when he played alongside James and Irving in Cleveland.
