It has been more than two months since “Fortnite” added a slew of new costumes (and player pets) to the game in Season 6, which means the time for a new season is almost here. Developer Epic Games released the first teaser for the game’s seventh season of content on Monday.

Epic tweeted a photo of a dark, icy-looking figure with the caption “A bitter ice spreads…” The new season is expected to start on Thursday.

It seems as though “Fortnite” might embrace a winter-themed fantasy aesthetic for Season 7. References to “Game of Thrones” would not be surprising. Previous seasons of “Fortnite” have been themed around things like outer space and superheroes.

Additionally, there is a character on a snowboard on the figure’s shoulder in the photo. Epic could potentially cover parts of the map in snow and allow players to traverse it using new vehicles in Season 7.

“Fortnite” fans have another big event to look forward to this week. There will be a surprise “Fortnite” announcement at The Game Awards on Thursday, which is said to be unrelated to the new season.
