With the passing of Labor Day, fashionistas are gearing up for the start of New York Fashion Week, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, beginning on Thursday.

Not just members of the fashion community from stylists to editors gather for the semiannual unveiling of designer's work, but many celebrities attend in anticipation of the looks for the upcoming season. Famous faces, from Kristen Stewart to Nicki Minaj to Emma Watson become front row fixtures at many of the shows, including Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Diane von Furstenberg, to name a few.

Last year, Dakota Fanning and Maria Sharapova stopped by the Marc Jacobs show while a pregnant Molly Sims and Barbara Walters both attended the Diane von Furstenberg show. Of course, Mick Jagger attended his girlfriend's, L'Wren Scott, show on Feb. 16. Viola Davis, Renee Zellweger and Leighton Meester all sat front row at Vera Wang while Kristin Chenoweth, Matt Damon and Ahna O'Reilly caught Naeem Khan. International style sisters, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen who own their own labels The Row and Elizabeth & James, attended J. Mendel.
