  • Van de Beek is yet to start a league game this season

Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek ahead of the deadline day (Jan. 31).

Crystal Palace want to sign Donny van de Beek on loan until the end of the season. Manchester United are willing to let the Dutch midfielder go on loan if they receive a suitable offer, both from a financial and soccer perspective, reported Sky Sports.

Manchester United would not include an option to buy in the loan deal as the Old Trafford side wants to keep Van de Beek for next season or at least give the new manager at the end of the 2021-22 season an option to consider the long-term future of the player.

Even La Liga club Valencia have approached Manchester United regarding Van de Beek but Red Devils’ interim manager Ralf Rangnick is reluctant to allow the young midfielder to join Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, according to The Guardian.

Van de Beek, who is contracted with the Red Devils until 2025, is believed to be frustrated with his current situation at the club and wants more game time. He is prepared to leave Old Trafford if needed.

The 24-year-old midfielder is worried about his Netherlands' future. Since he does not feature regularly for Manchester United, Van de Beek has not been picked in the Dutch squad since Louis van Gaal took over as Netherlands manager. That has also reduced his chances of making the World Cup squad. The FIFA competition is due to take place later this year in Qatar.

In the 2021-22 campaign, Van de Beek is yet to start a Premier League game for Manchester United. He has played in just eight league games, clocking a total of just 68 minutes across all those fixtures. Overall, he has made only 14 appearances for the Red Devils this term, scoring one goal, which came in their 4-1 loss to Watford in the league.

Van de Beek made a $47 million move from Ajax to Manchester United in the summer of 2020. Neither Ole Gunnar Solskjaer nor interim boss Rangnick has trusted him as a regular member of the team.

So far, Van de Beek has managed to bag only 50 competitive appearances for Manchester United since his arrival in 2020. He scored on his debut for the Red Devils, which was coincidentally against Crystal Palace.
