The Los Angeles Galaxy got their MLS season off to an auspicious start on Tuesday night with a victory over Seattle at Qwest Field, 1-0.

A fantastic shot by Brazilian Juninho in the 57th minute went past the outstretched arm of Kasey Keller, earning Los Angeles the hard-fought victory.

The Galaxy, which lost in last year's MLS Cup, are looking to take home some silverware in the David Beckham's final season with the club.

A late flurry by the Sounders in the final minutes wasn't enough to prevent a clean sheet from backup goalkeeper Josh Saunders.

The match also included a yellow card for David Beckham in stoppage time.

The Galaxy have beaten the Sounders five straight times.

Despite wet conditions, the Sounders drew typical great attendance.
