ABC’s preemption of “General Hospital” will continue on Friday, August 31, which means viewers can tune in to watch the tragic death of Nathan West unfold all over again.

The encore presentation of “General Hospital” Season 55, episode 207, will feature the final moments of Naxie. The latest rerun will pick back up at the hospital following Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) surgery. It will also feature some covert antics from Jason (Steve Burton), who is desperate to get answers from Faison (Anders Hove).

Jason tries to get the villain to explain why he gave his memories to Drew (Billy Miller), but Faison wouldn’t give Jason the answers he wanted. Instead, he left him with a clue by revealing his son Henrik (Wes Ramsey), who helped him kidnap Jason, was in Port Charles and hiding in plain sight.

At the other end of the hospital, Maxie sat by Nathan’s bedside as he slept and flashed back to the day they first met. While Maxie put on a brave face and assured those around her Nathan would pull through, she later found herself crying in the bathroom over her husband’s predicament.

Following her emotional breakdown, Maxie returns to Nathan’s side to talk about their future together once he is released from the hospital. While giving her opinion on the house they should buy for their growing family, Nathan manages to open his eyes.

Although some viewers have been sobbing over the reruns of Nathan’s end, others have expressed their dissatisfaction about the network’s delay of new episodes.

Several fans tweeted Paevey about their unhappiness regarding the reruns featuring his character, however, the actor managed to find some humor amid their frustrations. “I have never seen a saltier bunch than soap fans talking about repeats, haha,” he tweeted.

“GH” has been preempted for a total of four days due to a lack of interruptions during the year. ABC Series Executive Nathan Varni previously explained to fans that the soap simply didn’t produce enough episodes.

“Last yr we didn’t have to take additional encores because Trump interrupted the show so much. This year, with less interruptions, we needed to take some extra days off based on the # of new eps we produce for you,” he tweeted prior to the encore presentations.

New episodes of “General Hospital” are expected to resume Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 3 p.m. EDT on ABC.
