  • miHoYo has not yet revealed anything about the new patch

"Genshin Impact" 2.2 appears to offer a lot of exciting content for fans to enjoy, including new enemies and an event that gives away a free character, if the latest set of leaks are to be believed.

The next update is expected to roll out sometime in October, but as early as today, leaks about its content are already rife online. One of the most recent leaks came from Honey Impact via Wangsheng Funeral parlor.

According to Honey Impact, "Genshin Impact" 2.2 would introduce four new enemies from the Abyss Order family. These powerful villains will reportedly include Geo Riftstalker Whelp, Electro Riftstalker Whelp, Geo Riftstalker Hound and Electro Riftstalker Hound.

"A magical being from another world, possessing the ability to corrode objects," Honey Impact revealed. "The Riftstalker Whelp's attacks inflict the status of 'corrosion' on its target. After receiving damage by a corresponding element, the Riftstalker Whelp enters a state of 'demonic possession,' and becomes extremely aggressive at the cost of lowered elemental resistance."

As for the Rifstalker Hound, Wangsheng Funeral parlor said that "the adult form of the Riftstalker Whelp… or so it should appear." "But this magical being does not follow a natural cycle of growth, and its exact development pattern is still a mystery. The Riftstalker Hound's attacks inflict the status of 'corrosion' on its target. After receiving damage by a corresponding element, the Riftstalker Hound enters a state of 'demonic possession,' and becomes extremely aggressive at the cost of lowered elemental resistance," it added.

An industry insider, who goes by the name Genshin Intel, also offered a new set of information about a new roguelike event in the game. According to them, Labyrinth Warriors will be a roguelike dungeon challenge event that features four stages.

The said event will reportedly reward players with three different types of currencies, including Damaged Replica, Battered Shikifuda and Aged Tokens. Players can use Damaged Replica to purchase buffs before the challenge.

Meanwhile, "Genshin Impact" players can utilize the Battered Shikifuda currency to draw random buffs or debuffs following the challenge. On the other hand, the third currency, which is called Aged Tokens, can be used to get event-exclusive goodies.

The insider's claim is backed by Project Celestia industry insider and data miner, who said the event is found on the game's beta 2.2 and involves Xinyan, Tartaglia and Kujou Sara. The limited-time mode will reportedly give away a free Xinyan, which players can obtain at the event shop.

So far, Chinese gaming studio miHoYo has not yet announced anything related to the new enemies coming to the game. It hasn't said anything about the limited-time mode that players can enjoy in the next patch, either. In this case, fans should temper their expectations and take the pieces of information revealed by the recent leaks with a grain of salt.
