MMA star and Hollywood actress Gina Carano expressed her anger over Instagram’s decision to remove her naked photo.

After deciding to finally hang the gloves, Carano pursued a Hollywood career which saw her starring in big screen movies such as “Haywire” and “Fast & Furious 6.” Associated with being a Hollywood star, is social media fame, in which Carano often expressed her thoughts. However, the former Strikeforce fighter found herself in the middle of controversy after posting a nude image of herself on Instagram.

The 38-year-old got the MMA world buzzing over the weekend after posting a topless photo of herself accompanied by the caption: “I find freedom sexy. I find freedom so sexy, I can’t even explain it to you. You wake up every day and feel like you can do anything.”

Most fans appreciated it, but by Monday (June 29), just two days after posting the photo, Instagram decided to remove it.

Defending herself, Carano insisted that she hasn’t broken any rules or guidelines of the social media platform. Taking her thoughts on Twitter, the MMA legend ranted about the issue called it “some classic.”

“So that’s what it’s like to be censored for no reason. Pic was taken down by Instagram. There’s much more important news today but that was some classic b---s--t. The whole post was about freedom of expression. Violating zero rules. Ironic. Feels like I graduated,” she tweeted.

But according to Instagram’s community guidelines, what Carano posted clearly violated the platform’s rules about nudity, MMA Junkie reported.

“We don’t allow nudity on Instagram. This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks. It also includes some photos of female nipples,” the guidelines say.

Despite have the original photo pulled down by Instagram, Carano remained firm on her what she believed in. In response to everything that has happened, Carano posted an alternate “artistic version ” of her naked photo with a strong message which seems to be promoting “freedom.”

Carano was once a phenomenal MMA fighter and was heavily linked to a UFC fight with Ronda Rousey. However, due to a conflict with UFC president Dana White, “Conviction” never signed with the promotion.
