KEY POINTS

  • Gisele Bundchen was reportedly sending a message to Tom Brady with her sighting with Joaquim Valente
  • The supermodel is seemingly showing off what Brady was missing after their divorce, according to a source
  • Bundchen has known Valente for over a year after signing up her son, Benjamin, for the art of Japanese self-defense

Gisele Bundchen was spotted with a new man just weeks after she and Tom Brady finalized their divorce.

The 42-year-old Brazilian supermodel was photographed out and about with jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente in Costa Rica over the weekend.

She has known Valente, who lives in Miami, for at least a year and a half, unnamed sources told Page Six. Bundchen reportedly met him after signing up her son Benjamin, 12, for lessons in the ancient art of Japanese self-defense before taking lessons herself.

Unnamed sources close to Bundchen insisted to the outlet that she is not dating Valente, who is reportedly in his early 30s.

However, a family source claimed to Page Six, "It certainly looks like Gisele is showing off — and showing Tom what he's missing."

The insider speculated that the NFL star, who also shares 9-year-old daughter Vivian with Bundchen, would be hurt about the rumored couple spending time together in Costa Rica, which is where their family spent so many happy times together as well as own a home.

"I have to think that Gisele is sending Tom a message," the source added.

Other unnamed sources told Page Six that Jordan, another of the teachers, and Valente travel with the family when they go out of town because the kids are home-schooled.

"This is the fourth or fifth time they've been to Costa Rica — it just so happens to be weeks after the divorce. They've been there many times and they're going to continue to be there," one source claimed.

Bundchen and Valente did a sexy photoshoot for Dust Magazine over a year ago. In the interview, the former Victoria's Secret Angel talked about her love of jiu-jitsu.

"I have always been a seeker and a curious person who always wants to dive deeper. It's actually because of my son that I met Joaquim. I have a friend who told me about the Velente brothers and their martial art school, and since I wanted to steer my almost teenage son in the right direction, I thought he might be interested in this," the model told the magazine.

Bundchen admitted that she initially didn't consider it for herself. But when she brought her son to the class and talked to Valente, she said she realized that it was much more than self-defense and became interested in its philosophy.

"It felt very much in line with what I believe in and look for in my life and how I have a path to develop and become the best version of myself. It sounded like something I definitely wanted to learn about and then I was hooked," she continued.

Brady and Bundchen filed for and finalized their divorce on Oct. 28 after reports claimed that the athlete's decision to return to the NFL led to tensions in his marriage to the model.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion told reporters Friday that he has "zero" regrets about reversing his decision to retire from the NFL.

"I returned because I felt like I wanted to compete, and I spoke to the team about it, and they were excited to have me back," Brady said, according to ESPN. "I don't really regret those types of things — I think when I commit to it, I mean it, and I do my best and try to give everything I can to this particular opportunity."
