Global Parents Day is marked annually on June 1 to appreciate every parent for their selfless efforts toward their children's well-being and proper development. The United Nations declared June 1 of each year as Global Day of Parents in 2012.

The theme for this year's Global Day of Parents is "Appreciate All Parents Throughout the World." Celebrate this day by telling your parents how much they matter to you. Spend some quality time with them by taking them out for a meal, giving them some gifts or just by being around them.

Here are some quotes, courtesy Everyday Power, to share with your parents and show them your love:

5. "We may not be able to prepare the future for our children, but we can at least prepare our children for the future." – Franklin D. Roosevelt

6. "A parent's love is whole no matter how many times divided." – Robert Brault

7. "The best inheritance a parent can give his children is a few minutes of his time each day." – O. A. Battista

8. "Children begin by loving their parents; as they grow older they judge them; sometimes they forgive them." – Oscar Wilde
