GNC Store Closings 2020: Which Locations Are Closing? [COMPLETE LIST]

At the same time that GNC announced that it would be filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the health and wellness chain said it would “accelerate” the closure of at least 800 to 1,200 stores out of its 7,300 locations worldwide.

The company filed for bankruptcy under unraveling debt amid the coronavirus pandemic. GNC said the COVID-19 crisis had a major impact on its business, which it expects to restructure for long-term success through the Chapter 11 filing.

Along with announcing bankruptcy, GNC said it would sell its business in a deal valued at $760 million with its largest shareholder, Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co., Ltd., as the stalking-horse bidder. The company said will entertain higher and better offers at auction and expects to emerge from bankruptcy by Fall of this year.
