Steph Curry opened up in an extended question and answer session about his former teammate Kevin Durant on Thursday. The Golden State Warriors star chose to respond amicably - adding that "the three years that we had were special."

Since the start of free agency, the Golden Bay squad parted ways with mainstays Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Demarcus Cousins, and Kevin Durant. Within three years, the Warriors went on to three championship appearances, winning two chips. It could have been three if not for the brilliance of a Kawhi-led Toronto Raptors team.

Curry discussed the loss with detail, but not as compelling as how he described Kevin Durant. He credits the 30-year-old superstar for what they've accomplished in just three years.

He added that what happened in the finals was "a tough way to end," the season. With KD and Klay getting injured, and Demarcus beforehand, it was expected that a lot of changes would be happening, and a lot of them did.

The trigger happy point guard also understood the meaning of free agency. "The beauty of free agency is everybody has a decision," he tentatively answered the media after a practice round at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.

Steph also mentioned former teammates, and fan favorites, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston. He said that Andre and Shaun were "two guys that do things the right way." "having the ultimate level of professionalism and leadership," they are "three-time champs, both of them." He added that both players still have a lot left in their tanks.

In the offseason, the Warriors added rising star D'Angelo Russel in their lineup. Steph had something to say to the 23-year-old point man. He said that "what he did in Brooklyn," is "the next step as a certified Allstar."

Finally, Curry expressed his enthusiasm for the new season. He said that their "chemistry must develop quickly," and the team will be "really purposeful about that and try to set the tone of how we'll play this year."

He added that it's "going to be fun." The Warriors will try to regain their western conference dominance with the original 2015 trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Thompson will be out for the season due to an injury - and Draymond, he'll always be Draymond.

It will be interesting to see how things pan out for Golden State. One thing is for sure though; things will be very different for the 2019-2020 Warriors squad.
