Google Nexus 5X Price Massively Discounted By $160; Is Nexus 2016 Release Date Drawing Near?

The Google Nexus 6P was recently spotted with a discount of $150 and eBay’s Newegg store. Now, the Google Nexus 5X is available with a massive discount of $160 on Daily Steals. Rumors suggest that the recent price cut on 2015 Nexus smartphones indicate that the Nexus 2016 release date is fast approaching.

On Daily Steals, the 32 GB LG Nexus 5X with model number H790 is available at a discount of $160 over its usual price of $429. The smartphone that is only available in Carbon color option is now selling for $269. The offer page states that the deal will expire in three days. On eBay, the same model and color variant is available at a price of $275.

The LG Nexus 5X is an upgraded edition of the popular LG Nexus 5 that was released in 2014. The Nexus 5X is an upper midrange smartphone that features a 5.2-inch full HD screen.

It is powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset that can be found under the hood of other smartphones like Moto X Pure Edition, LG G4 and Microsoft Lumia 950 that were released in 2015. The SoC is coupled with 2 GB of RAM.

It has a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera that is enabled with features such as laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front side of the smartphone. It also includes a fingerprint reader and a USB Type-C port. It is equipped with a 2,700 mAh capacity battery.

Google has also reduced the price of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones by $80. The recent discounts on 2015 Nexus smartphones indicate that the Nexus 2016 release date is drawing near. HTC is rumored to be building upcoming Nexus smartphones. Nexus 2016 rumors suggest that HTC is working on two smartphones that are codenamed as Marlin M1 and Sailfish S1.

The upcoming Nexus 2016 smartphones are expected to come preloaded with Android N OS. Google has planned to release five preview builds of Android N before rolling out its final version. The search engine had released the third Android N Developer Preview in May and it is expected to release next two builds in June and July, respectively. Since the final version of Android N is expected to be ready by August, rumors indicate that Nexus 2016 release date will be set in the same month.
