Google's Most Affordable Pixel Smartphone Reportedly Launching On August 3

A prominent industry insider claimed that the search engine giant is preparing to launch the most affordable smartphone, Google Pixel 4a a few days from now. The rumored Google Pixel 4a was initially scheduled to arrive in May 2020. However, it was hit with a series of delays, but according to a tipster, it would launch on August 3.

The industry is well aware that the Google Pixel 4a will arrive this year since the search engine giant already unveiled it in the early part of July. While the launch of the device is imminent, Front Page Tech’s Jon Prosser is certain that the much-awaited affordable handset would launch seven days from now or more specifically on August 3.

The industry insider further claimed that his information about the Google Pixel 4a is 100 percent correct. The date he shared a few weeks ago was considered as "unlikely", but now he is doubling down on his earlier claim.

Google Pixel 4a would reportedly pack a 3140 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The upcoming handset would feature a single 12.2 MP rear camera positioned on the upper left corner. In front, the smartphone features a single punch hole housing the selfie camera and slimmer bezels for its 5.7 to 5.8-inch 1080 x 2340 OLED screen.

Other claims revealed that the Google Pixel 4a would house Qualcomm Snapdragon upper mid-range 765 chipset with 5G wireless network connectivity support. The said handset would reportedly feature 6 GB of RAM and would be 70 percent as powerful as the Google Pixel 4, according to a benchmark listing. While it might not be as powerful as this year’s flagship smartphones or to Apple’s iPhone SE, for a mid-range handset with an affordable price tag, it is an attractive offer.

While Prosser is certain on the launch date of the Google Pixel 4a, it is worth mentioning that it is now official. Google is still mum on the release date of its upcoming mid-range smartphone. In this case, take this latest information about the Google Pixel 4a with a pinch of salt.
