  • A couple of "Gran Turismo" trademarks spotting has spurred expectations anew
  • "Gran Turismo" trademarks may have nothing to do with game launch
  • PS5 event may or may not include "Gran Turismo 7"

"Gran Turismo 7" is back in the rumor mill again barely weeks after social medial posts raised the level of expectations of a potential release this 2020. A couple of trademarks linked to the game were discovered in Argentina and such has gotten "Gran Turismo" fans excited.

The trademarks spotted were for the "Gran Turismo" name and the "Gran Turismo" logo. There was no number or subtitle included in either trademark. Though these appear to be nothing, some gamers are now trying to make something out of it when they were published on June 4. Ironically, this was about the same date when Sony was supposed to hold the PlayStation 5 game event. Now, there are some suggestions that “Gran Turismo 7” should have been launched on that same day.

Although it may make a bit of sense, it may be best to take these “Gran Turismo” trademark sighting with a grain of salt. They could be re-registrations or possibly first-time trademark registrations over in Argentina.

The closest to any "Gran Turismo 7" update is that the game is in development. This was confirmed no less by franchise head Kazunori Yamauchi who said that "Gran Turismo 7" is under development. Unfortunately, he did not provide further details about the game in an interview with GT Planet.

Just last month, Next Level Racing cause quite a stir when they came out with a social media post that was titled "What racing game are you most looking forward to in 2020?" There were different racing game logos in that post on Instagram, including a "Gran Turismo" logo that bore the number 7. Next Level Racing would later take down that post and claim that it was something they had gotten online.

For now, the wait for "Gran Turismo 7" continues. After that delayed June 4 PS5 event, gamers may not have to wait that long to find out. The PS5 event is likely to be rescheduled in a week or two and there are new games most are eager to see. The only question now is whether this will include "Gran Turismo 7" or not.
