  • Greg Germann joined "Grey’s Anatomy" in 2017
  • The actor will exit the show Thursday
  • His last episode will be called "Tradition"

Another cast member of the medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" is all set to exit the show. Greg Germann, who portrayed Dr. Thomas Koracick for four seasons, will have his final appearance Thursday.

Interestingly, he is not the only actor to leave the show. Jesse Williams, who portrayed Jackson Avery for 12 seasons, will also exit the series on the same day. The last episode for both the actors is titled "Tradition."

In an interview with Deadline, showrunner Krista Vernoff said, "Greg Germann is a comic genius and we are so lucky that he brought his talents to our show these last few years. We will miss Greg terribly in the day to day – but we plan to see Tom Koracick again!"

Germann is the third actor to exit the show amid the ongoing 17th season. Besides Germann and Williams, Italian actor Giacomo Gianniotti also left the show after his character Andrew DeLuca was killed off in March.

The show's current season features the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In it, Koracick's character spent most of his part battling with the coronavirus.

"To have worked with all the incredibly talented people involved with Grey’s over the past few years has been such a privilege," Germann told Deadline. "A big thank you to the fans as it has truly been a shared experience!"

The very first episode of "Grey's Anatomy" aired in 2005. Since then, many members of the original star cast left the show, including Justin Chambers, Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight, Isaiah Washington, Jerrika Hinton, Sara Ramirez, Sandra Oh, Eric Dane and Chyler Leigh. However, the current season has also introduced some of these characters back to the show, including Patrick Dempsey, Knight, Dane and Leigh.

It was in 2017 when Germann joined the medical drama. His character has been known in the hospital as a leader and mentor to other characters including Amelia Shepherd, played by actress Caterina Scorsone, and Teddy Altman, portrayed by Kim Raver.

Besides this show, the 63-year-old actor also appeared in various television series such as "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Redliners," "Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

The actor has also worked in movies such as "Foster Boy," "Billy Boy" and "Someone Marry Barry."
