Japril is back together! Well, at least they are in this photo …

Recently, Sarah Drew shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the Season 13 set of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” featuring everyone’s favorite Grey Sloan twosome: Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Drew).

“#BackToSchool,” the red haired star captioned the sweet selfie of her and Williams during their first day filming the new episodes. “#GreysAnatomyseason13.”

In the picture, which was snapped while filming episode 1 of the upcoming installment, fans can notice that while Jackson is sporting a pair of scrubs April is wearing a hospital gown. The wardrobe teases that perhaps Season 13 will pick up just where Season 12 left off — with April recovering from her traumatic delivery.

In the Season 12 finale of the Shonda Rhimes series, April underwent an emergency C-section after going into labor in Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) house. The reason April was in Mer’s home was because that’s where she had left Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia’s (Caterina Scorsone) wedding rings. Not wanting to disappoint Owen on his big day, Owen’s best woman scurried from the church to retrieve the bands after receiving a lift from Ben (Jason George).

But little did Ben know that the lift would turn into a ride of a lifetime when April started contracting. While prepping to deliver the baby vaginally, Ben discovered something terrifying: the baby was breach. That meant the doctor, who was on thin ice due to controversial practices, meant he was going to have to cut April open — without a spinal block — to deliver the child.

Luckily, both April and her baby survived the delivery. And we have a feeling that their near-death experience might have even saved Japril’s relationship, too.

In February, Drew told TV Guide that April’s pregnancy was like a “beacon of hope” for Japril’s relationship. After the two sign their divorce papers, it was revealed that April was expecting. Drew saw this as a sign that the baby might bring the two back together.

“I always, always, always hold out hope for Japril,” she told the outlet. “I think there’s always hope. Nobody’s dead. There’s always hope as long as they’re both still breathing.”

And the last time we checked, all three of the Avery-Drew family is alive and well!

“Grey’s Anatomy” will return to ABC with its Season 13 premiere on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. EDT.
