The "Grimm" Season 3 finale featured trouble at Monroe's (Silas Weir Mitchell, left) wedding, with Nick (David Giuntoli) there as the best man. NBC

“Grimm” returns Friday to NBC with the premiere of the supernatural drama’s fourth season. Fans have been waiting all summer to see how Nick (David Giuntoli) would face life without his Grimm powers. But some fans might need a refresher on what happened in the Season 3 finale to remember how Nick lost his powers.

The episode began with Adalind (Claire Coffee) hatching her plan to strip Nick of his Grimm powers. She took a potion that made her look like Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) and then went to see Nick. Well, first she stopped to see Renard (Sasha Roiz) and messed with his head, telling him, as Juliette, that she still had feelings for him. She later visited Nick and seduced the Grimm, who did not suspect that this was not his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, matters got even worse for Renard when he figured out what Adalind was up to. He rushed to Nick’s house, where he found they had already left for the wedding of Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner). Renard was then shot by Weston (C. Thomas Howell). With Renard bleeding on the ground, Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) made sure Weston paid for his actions with, quite literally, his head.

Trubel then rushed to the wedding, where she busted in on a ceremony full of Wesen who were not happy to see a Grimm. Chaos ensued as Trubel, Nick, Monroe, Rosalee and Hank (Russell Hornsby) escaped the wedding debacle. At least Monroe and Rosalee did manage to tie the knot before all hell broke loose. But the honeymoon would have to wait. After they escaped the group figured out the full extent of the trick Adalind played on Nick – he is not a Grimm anymore.

Meanwhile, Adalind seemed to escape unscathed, for now, and Renard was seen coughing up blood at the end of the episode giving fans hope he would make it to Season 4.

Will Renard survive? What will happen with Adalind? Most importantly, what will Nick do without his Grimm powers? Viewers will get some answers Friday. Season 4 of “Grimm” begins with the premiere, "Thanks for the Memories," which will see Nick adjusting to life without his powers. The episode airs Friday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
