Grimm
Nick (David Giuntoli, left) will have to rely on Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni, right) in Season 4 of "Grimm." NBC

The wait is finally over for fans of NBC’s supernatural drama “Grimm.” The show returns on Friday, Oct. 24 with the Season 4 premiere to the delight of fans left on the edge of their seats after a shocking Season 3 finale in May. The finale caused a major shakeup when it was revealed that Adalind (Claire Coffee) had robbed Nick (David Giuntoli) of his Grimm powers with her spell. It has been a long wait for fans to see how Nick will react to not being a Grimm anymore.

Here are 7 things fans need to know before the Oct. 24 premiere of “Grimm”:

1. Premiere Synopsis

The synopsis for the premiere episode has been released revealing that Nick will be adjusting to his loss of powers in the first episode. However, just because Nick is not a Grimm does not mean the Wesen will be taking a break. A new group of Wesen will show up in Portland, stealing the memories of their victims. Meanwhile, Adalind will end up captured by Prince Viktor (Alexis Denisof) while trying to get her baby back.

2. Episode Titles

The titles for the first 11 episodes of “Grimm” Season 4 are as follows:

1. “Thanks for the Memories” (Oct. 24)

2. “Octopus Head” (Oct. 31)

3. “Last Fight” (Nov. 7)

4. “Dyin’ on a Prayer”

5. “Cry Luison”

6. “Highway of Tears”

7. “The Grimm Who Stole Christmas”

8. “Chupacabra”

9. “Wesenrein”

10. “Tribunal”

11. “Death Do Us Part”

3. Nick’s Powers

Fans hoping Nick will get his Grimm mojo back in the premiere will be disappointed. Nick will spend a good bit of time in Season 4 adjusting to life as a normal person and it turns out that not being a Grimm is not so bad. There are positives to leading a Grimm-less life, including a more normal relationship with Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch). In fact, it might be a few episodes before Nick gets his powers back (if at all).

4. Nick and Adalind

Nick losing his “Grimm” powers will not be the only consequence of Adalind’s spell in Season 3 The spell will have additional long term effects that further connect Nick and Adalind. While the cast and writers have kept what those effects will be secret, they have hinted that the consequences could be game changing.

5. Trubel

With Nick powerless, that makes Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) the only Grimm in Portland and a very important person. Nick will rely on Trubel in the early episodes of Season 4, using her as his Grimm-eyes in their fight against various Wesen. Nick’s reliance on Trubel will change the two characters’ relationship and be an adjustment for Nick.

6. Elizabeth Rodriguez

“Grimm” will pick up some new guest star power in Season 4 by way of Elizabeth Rodriguez. Rodriguez is most famous for her role as Aleida Diaz, the fiery Latina matriarch and kitchen boss on Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black.” The actress will play Agent Chavez on “Grimm”, a detective on the case of Renard’s (Sasha Roiz) shooter who becomes suspicious of Trubel.

7. New Promo

A new promo from Season 4 shows all the fan favorite characters back in action, plus a first look at Octo-man episode 2. The octopus-headed Wesen will be a scary sight for fans on the show’s Halloween night episode.
