Although Gwen Stefani admitted raising three kids isn’t an easy task, she praised her boyfriend, Blake Shelton for being a great father figure to her sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

After Stefani and Rossdale split in 2015, the No Doubt singer began dating Shelton. The “Austin” artist formed a strong relationship with the newly single mom following his divorce from Miranda Lambert.

Nowadays, Stefani and Shelton’s romance has blossomed into a strong family unit. During an appearance on the “Today” show, the “Hollaback Girl” singer revealed her boyfriend has been a great support system when it comes to raising her children, Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 5.

“He is a good dad, actually. He’s been helping me out a lot. I literally get to the point where I’m like, ‘You’ve got to get home. Come help!’ It’s hard. I have three boys,” she explained.

Although she has been receiving help with her sons, Stefani admitted she is struggling to watch her youngest child grow up. The 49-year-old revealed she became emotional after sending Apollo off to his first day of kindergarten this year.

“That part was a little bit hard … because I never thought I would be in preschool again because I had him late, and he was a miracle surprise in the first place,” Stefani confessed.

“[I’m] just trying to savor every single moment. When you get into school, you realize that you’re at the beginning of, like, homework. The big boys would go to school, and he would get to stay longer with us and hang out, and now he’s not,” she added.

In the past, both Shelton and Stefani have spoken about his close relationship with her sons. In June, sources told Us Weekly that the country singer spends a majority of his free time with his girlfriend and her boys.

“He’s extremely close with them. Blake loves getting dirty with the boys. They’re always playing basketball or running around. They love it [at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch] because it’s just the five of them out on the land, hunting or hiking,” the insider revealed.

It appears Shelton and Stefani will be spending a lot of time together during the final months of 2019. The stars have been tapped as coaches for “The Voice” Season 17.

The show will premiere on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
