  • Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will have a "very simple" wedding
  • The "Hollaback Girl" singer said the guest list will be limited to family members
  • Stefani revealed they will not invite a wedding band and will likely just have a playlist

Gwen Stefani has shared some new details about her upcoming wedding to her fiancé Blake Shelton, and contrary to what some fans may be expecting, their nuptials won't be a grand star-studded event.

"We're keeping it very simple. Really simple," Stefani said of their wedding when she appeared on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" Thursday.

Stefani also revealed some details about the guest list. "I think the guest list will not have a lot of musicians. It'll be like my mom and my dad. It's literally going to be just family. We are looking forward to that, though," she explained.

But though Stefani and Shelton are not expecting many guests, they are committed to making their special day "fun" for them and their loved ones.

"It's going to be fun. We're going to make it really fun, but it's not going to be a big [event]. It's not like the queen and king are getting married or something like that," she continued.

When Shelton appeared on the late-night show in December, he joked about inviting former fellow "Voice" coach Adam Levine's band Maroon 5 to perform at their nuptials.

"He may not like it, but Adam Levine's gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding,” Shelton said at the time.

"I've already seen a music video where they crash people's weddings and he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years," he added, referencing Maroon 5's "Sugar" music video. "So I think we can get Adam to come be our wedding band."

Levine later said that he was down with the idea. However, Stefani's new revelation hinted that it is unlikely to happen because they won't have a wedding band.

"I definitely would love to have Adam sing at our wedding. But the thing is, I feel like we're not going to have a wedding band," Stefani said. "I feel like we're just going to go with a playlist."

Stefani and Shelton announced their engagement in October 2020.

The "Hollaback Girl" singer previously revealed that they had been engaged for about a week before they made the announcement. She admitted she had been dying to share her engagement with friends and fans, but Shelton wanted them to savor the moment privately.

"Blake was like, 'Let's not tell anyone. Let's just make it ours for a minute.' I was like, 'Yeah, of course,'" she continued.

After keeping their engagement secret for a week, the country singer asked Stefani when they would make the announcement, and it was at that moment when they decided to share it with the world.

"Blake was like, 'Wait, when are you going to tell people?' I'm like, 'You're the one that said not to tell anyone!'" Stefani said. "So anyways, here we are. We're getting married!"
