Hailey Bieber’s father didn’t really mind her decision to change her name to reflect her status as Justin Bieber’s wife. She also admitted that she had to adjust to her new surname.

The 22-year-old model opened up to Bustle earlier this week and shared her thoughts on being Mrs. Bieber. It should be noted that Hailey changed her Instagram name to “Hailey Bieber” last November, two months after she reportedly tied the knot with the singer at a New York City courthouse.

The move came as a surprise to many of her fans, since a lot of them expected her to keep her family name considering that the Baldwins are very popular thanks to her father Stephen and uncles Alec, William and Daniel Baldwin’s involvement in the showbiz industry.

In the interview, Hailey maintained that she’s very proud of her family name. She then revealed that her decision to become Mrs. Bieber was actually supported by her family, adding that her dad didn’t mind the name change at all.

“I come from a great family with a history in this industry. I remember when I was going to change it, I asked my dad if he was going to be upset and he was like, ‘No! I don’t care. We love you. All good, everyone still knows you’re a Baldwin,’” the model said.

It has already been more than two months since she changed her surname on social media, but Hailey admitted that she was not comfortable at first. According to her, it took some time before she got used to it because it’s “definitely strange” to suddenly have a new name.

Meanwhile, Hailey has been a very positive influence on the “Sorry” hitmaker. A source revealed to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday that the model was the one who pushed Bieber to seek treatment for his depression.

The source said that Hailey had a hard time seeing her husband battle with depression. And even though she’s been there for him ever since they got back together last year, she knew that what Selena Gomez’s ex really needs is professional help.

“She just loves him dearly and hates to see him in pain,” the source said. “She just wants him to be at his healthiest so she pushed him to get steady help and he hasn’t resisted.”

The news comes a week after Hailey admitted during her joint interview with her husband for Vogue that “marriage is very hard.”
