Halle Berry On Dating A Friend's Ex-Boyfriend: 'That's A Cardinal Sin'

Halle Berry has shared one of her dating rules that she has vowed to never break.

Berry, 54, and her longtime friend Lindsay Flores discussed dating in the latest episode of their Instagram series, "Bad & Booshy." During the episode, they answered various questions from fans, including one that asked if they would ever consider going out with a "friend's ex-boyfriend or ex-husband."

Berry responded, "Never! Never!"

"I would definitely not date any of your exes," Flores quipped, which had the Oscar winner chiming in, "Well, you wouldn't want to."

"That's a cardinal sin. You don't date your bestie's exes. If I know you, I'm not dating your past nothing 'cause that's just not cool," Berry explained. "My soulmate is not in the form of anybody I know's exes."

For months, Berry had been coy about her own love life this year. But in September, the "Monster's Ball" actress finally revealed that she has been dating singer Van Hunt, 50.

The two have been together for several months, and she has already introduced the Grammy winner to her daughter Nahla, 12, and son, Maceo, 7, according to reports.

"They are spending a lot of time at Halle's Malibu house. She really seems to enjoy the quiet time. Van has met her kids, so it seems pretty serious," an unnamed source told People.

In August, Berry shared a snap of her legs intertwined with someones else's as she celebrated her birthday in Las Vegas. At the time, her fans had no clue who she was dating.

"Waking up Vegas! Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes from my friends and my very supportive and loyal fans! You ALL helped to make my birthday extra special," she wrote.

Berry and Hunt are enjoying a great relationship because they "respect each other and have a great deal in common," according to the tipster.

"Both are very successful and smart, and they seem to be in a mature relationship. It seems like a really good match," the source said.

Berry was previously married to former MLB star David Justice (1992 to 1997), R&B singer Eric Benet (2001 to 2005) and French star Olivier Martinez (2013 to 2016). She admitted that after three failed marriages, she became "kind of anti-fairy tales."

"I have learned to deal with three failed marriages, which has not been easy, especially when there's children involved," Berry was quoted by Us Weekly as saying. "[As] women, we go into marriage thinking it's going to last forever and that this is our prince on a shiny horse. That's what fairy tales taught me as a kid ... and I'm kind of anti-fairy tales today."
