Singer-songwriter Michael Bolton rose to fame after releasing several hits between the mid-'80s and late '90s. But how much did the artist actually make in his career?

As of this year, Bolton, now 68, has a net worth of $80 million stemming from his success in the music industry, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

After starting out in the hard rock and heavy metal genres during the '70s to the mid-'80s, Bolton achieved success after transitioning to pop-rock ballads in the late '80s and went on to sell more than 75 million records, the outlet said.

In his decades-long career, the Connecticut native has released eight top 10 albums and scored two no. 1 singles on the Billboard charts, “When A Man Loves A Woman” and “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.” He's also received six American Music Awards and two Grammy Awards.

Bolton is estimated to have earned more than $16 million in record sales for his 1989 album “Soul Provider,” which sold approximately 12.5 million copies, according to The Richest. His next album, “Time, Love & Tenderness,” was an even bigger hit, selling around 16 million copies when it was released in 1991 and recording more than $20 million in sales.

Bolton’s next two releases, “Timeless: The Classics” and “The One Thing,” which came out in 1992 and 1993, respectively, collectively sold around 15 million copies. The former debuted no. 1 on the Billboard charts and was certified 4x Platinum in the U.S.

In 1997, he released the no. 1 hit “Go the Distance,” which was featured on the Disney film “Hercules.”

The singer-songwriter also delved into film and TV. He made appearances in Cuba Gooding Jr.’s “Snow Dogs” and “Two and a Half Men” and directed the documentary “American Dream: Detroit.”

As for his properties, Bolton listed his mansion in Westport, Connecticut, for $11 million in 2008. The residence covers an expansive 9,633 square feet of living space and has a large, multi-level marble terrace and patio, according to Westport News. The home comes with a private tennis court and a heated in-ground swimming pool.

It is not clear if Bolton has sold the home, but The Richest said the singer had sold a Westport property for $2 million in 2015.

This year, Bolton partnered with actress Zooey Deschanel to host ABC's “Celebrity Dating Game.” The show will have contestants try to figure out who the celebrity is while picking a person to go on a date with. According to Parade, Bolton will use his vocal chops to sing clues about who the celebrity is.
