  • "The Walking Dead" Season 10 is expected to feature multiple deaths
  • Maggie will return in the finale
  • The season finale will feature an epic battle scene

"The Walking Dead" Season 10, Episode 16 finally has a release date. But Robert Kirkman, the author on whose comics the AMC show is based, is not ready to reveal the release date just yet.

The Season 10 finale was initially set to air on April 12, but it had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking about the release date, Kirkman said that although he knew when the show would return to television, he couldn’t reveal the exact dates.

"The old Walking Dead show will be coming back. We'll be airing — I know dates. I don't think they’re public," Kirkman said on CartoonistKayfabe . "But we have the finale of [Season 10] … there will be more Walking Dead television for you to watch at some point in the future."

The previous episode of the zombie apocalypse drama ended on a cliffhanger with Whisperer Beta (Ryan Hurst) taking a horde of zombies towards the hospital tower hideout where Jeffrey Dean Morgan and several other survivors are present.

The finale will pick up right where the episode left off, and the last two minutes of the finale will hold a lot of shocks and surprises for fans. The brains behind the show have hinted at multiple casualties in the episode, and a huge battle similar to the ones featured in the “Game of Thrones.”

Titled ‘A Certain Doom,’ the season’s finale will also feature the return of an old character, Maggie (Lauren Cohan). A trailer for the episode shows Maggie reading a letter that informs her about the deaths of close friends Jesus, Tara, and Enid.

Delving into Maggie’s storyline in the finale, series showrunner Angela Kang told Entertainment Weekly that fans will learn what she has been up to since her last appearance in Season 9.

“We’ll see some more of the new characters as they’re featured this season, and we will see more of the epic conflict we’ve been witnessing all season with the survivors and the Whisperers,” she said. “And we’ll see that Maggie is…. We’ll know what’s happened with her and what that means for our group.”
