KEY POINTS

  • Season 10 finale could feature multiple deaths
  • Final two minutes of the finale will make people's jaws drop
  • There will be a battle in Season 10 finale

“The Walking Dead” Season 10, Episode 16 is expected to feature the death of a popular character.

With the arrival of the Whisperers, led by Alpha (Samantha Morton) and Beta (Ryan Hurst), the storyline has gotten bloodier and the show's executive producer Denise Huth had previously said that maybe not everyone will survive the finale.

The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger with Beta and his zombie horde surrounding camp Alexandria.

While there are a number of theories on who would die, Den of Geek believes the casualty could be Father Gabriel or King Ezekiel.

The character of Father Gabriel has come a long way since his appearance in Season 5. From a coward priest to the leader of a group of survivors, the character has had a huge transformation. Eliminating Father Gabriel would ensure more power to Alpha and the Whisperers.

Also, in The Walking Dead comics by Robert Kirkman, the source material for the television series, Father Gabriel dies in The Whisperer War as he gets ready to face the horde of zombies.

Another possible casualty is King Ezekiel. The character has thyroid cancer and his days are numbered. There’s not much going on for King Ezekiel at present and death following a battle with the Whisperers would be a fitting end.

Teasing what’s to come, the show’s lead Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, said the finale would be worth the wait as it features a “Game of Thrones” style battle scene.

"There were huge battle scenes until the wee hours of the morning consistently, and it looks so grand on an epic scale. These battle scenes are going to be legendary," Reedus said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“The Walking Dead” director Greg Nicotero meanwhile dubbed the finale his favorite episode of the season. He said a lot of stuff related to Daryl, Negan, Carol, and Beta will be addressed in the finale. The final two minutes of the finale is going to make people's jaws drop, teased Nicotero.

While filming of Season 10 finale is complete, the post-production work was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Season 10, Episode 16 of “The Walking Dead” is set to air on AMC later this year.
