  • Alana Thompson’s boyfriend Dralin Carswell is making his TV debut
  • The 20-year-old will be part of the all-new season of “Mama June: Road to Redemption”
  • Josh Efird will confront Dralin about his relationship with Alana on the show

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s first boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, will make his small-screen debut when “Mama June: Road to Redemption” returns with an all-new season next month.

Honey Boo Boo’s romantic relationship made headlines in September last year when the 16-year-old quietly updated her status on her private Facebook account to indicate that she was already “in a relationship.” She also changed her cover photo to a selfie that featured Dralin at the time.

A few weeks later, the former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star made her relationship with Dralin Instagram official by sharing their first couple photo on the social media platform. In the snap, the two were all smiles as they held hands, and Alana wrote the word “bae” as a text overlay.

However, Mama June’s youngest daughter quickly deleted the snap from her Instagram feed after receiving backlash from her followers. Many voiced their disapproval of the high school student’s romantic relationship when they found out that Dralin was already 20 years old and a college student.

But it seems Alana and Dralin are ready to make their relationship public. The first official trailer for the new season of “Road to Redemption” released via Entertainment Tonight showed the young couple engaging in some sweet moments in front of the camera.

Since Alana still lives with her de-facto guardian Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 22, and her husband Josh Efird, 25, she will get some guidance from them as she navigates her blossoming romance. Josh isn’t afraid to speak his mind to Dralin in front of Alana.

“The only thing I ask is respect and you treat her really, really good. If you don’t, I’m just gonna break your neck,” Josh, who has become a father figure to Alana, told Dralin in the trailer.

The Blast previously reported that Alana’s family did not mind the four-year age gap between the two. An unnamed source told the outlet that the college student was like “one of the family now.”

Fans may get to see how Dralin developed his bond with his girlfriend’s family in the all-new season of their reality show.

“Mama June: Road to Redemption” Season 6 premieres May 13 on We TV.
