Nestlé USA announced a recall for Hot Pockets. Customers reported finding pieces of glass or clear plastic in their food.

Luckily, the recall is specific to certain batches of Hot Pockets Brand Sandwiches - Garlic Buttery Crust Pepperoni Pizza Value Packs (12-count). Concerned customers should check for specific batch codes of 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614 and 0321544614 and a best before date of FEB 2022 on the side of the label.

“The problem was discovered after Nestlé USA was contacted by consumers. The company received a report of a potential injury associated with the consumption of this product,” the announcement says. No information is given on the possible victim.

Other types of Hot Pockets remain unaffected. The recall applies only to the 12-count boxes of Hot Pockets Brand Sandwiches Garlic Buttery Crust Pepperoni Pizza Value Packs. The 2-, 5- and 17-count packages are not impacted, nor are any other flavor varieties.

“The quality, safety and integrity of Nestlé USA and Hot Pockets products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers,” the company said.

Those who have contaminated Hot Pockets should get rid of them, either by trashing or returning them. The glass or clear plastic poses a choking hazard and puts consumers at risk for lacerations in the mouth or digestive tract.
