The team dances are part of one of the most fun nights of the competition on “Dancing With the Stars,” because it will be the first time the remaining pairs get to dance with their fellow celebrities for the first time. This year, similar to Season 25’s Team Dances Night, the show has opted to go against tradition when it comes to how the teams are determined.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the two teams, Team Hay Now and Team Joe Down, are being captained by Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess and Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson. While most of the seasons prior to this one which featured team dances allowed those with the highest averages to serve as captains, this will be the second time that the show has given that honor to the teams with the lowest average scores.

Of the remaining teams in the competition, Team CHECKusOUT, Joe and Jenna, have the lowest average score of 17.3, while Bobby and Sharna (Team Beauty and the Geek), have an average of 20.7 points. The other averages have been a 20.9 for John Schneider and Emma Slater, a 24.3 for both DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold and Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe, an even 25 for Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, a 26.4 for Milo Manheim and Witney Carson and a 26.7 for Juan Pablo di Pace and Cheryl Burke.

While Season 25 also gave the captain spots to the lowest scoring teams, the older format of the show would have seen Juan Pablo and Cheryl and Milo and Witney in charge of the two teams.

As for how the teams themselves were chosen, that appears to have still been done via schoolyard style, with the captains taking turns and picking who they would want to partner up with. Overall, the two teams are:

Team Hay Now:

  • Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess
  • Milo Manheim and Witney Carson
  • Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe
  • John Schneider and Emma Slater

Team Joe Down:

  • Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson
  • Juan Pablo di Pace and Cheryl Burke
  • Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten
  • DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold

The specific dance styles have not yet been revealed, and as for which team will be triumphant and score more judge’s points during Country Night, it seems as though Team Joe Down may have a slightly better advantage. As a whole, their average scores fall at 23.32, while Team Hay Now’s averages add up to 23.15.

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
