The team dances are part of one of the most fun nights of competition on "Dancing With the Stars," because the remaining pairs get to not only dance with their fellow celebrities for the first time, but it is often the first time they have to perform two routines in one night. However, while the dances are still happening, there is a new twist to how the teams were determined for Season 25's Team Night.

According to People Magazine, the two teams, Team Monster Mash and Team Phantom of the Opera, are being captained by Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke and Drew Scott and Emma Slater. Traditionally, the teams with the highest average scores are given the captain positions when it comes to picking the teams for team dances. However, Team Getcha Popcorn and Team Hot Property actually have the lowest average scores of the teams remaining in the competition.

Drew and Emma have the lowest average score overall of 22.7, while Terrell and Cheryl's average score comes to an even 23 points. The other averages have been a 23.7 for Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev, a 24.2 for Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy, a 24.6 for Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson, a 25 for Vanessa Lachey and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, a 26.6 for Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas, and a 27.6 for Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold.

The old format would have seen Jordan and Lindsey captaining the two teams, so it will be interesting to see what led to the show deciding that the two lowest average scoring teams would be the ones deciding who would dance together.

While that part changed however, the teams were likely still picked schoolyard style, with the captains taking turns and picking who they would want to partner up with from the remaining teams. Overall, the two teams are:

Team Monster Mash:

  • Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas
  • Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold
  • Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev
  • Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke

Team Phantom of the Opera:

  • Vanessa Lachey and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
  • Victoria Arlen and Valentin Chmerkovskiy
  • Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson
  • Drew Scott and Emma Slater

The night is expected to end with at least one team facing elimination, provided the show does not pull out another surprise with no eliminations occurring this week.

"Dancing With the Stars" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
