After dating for three years Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are finally ready to take their relationship to the next level but after her messy divorce with Gavin Rossdale, the 49-year-old is hesitant to announce she is engaged to her boyfriend.

Stefani finalized her divorce from the Bush frontman in 2016, however, the process was riddled with scandal. The former couple, who shares three kids together Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 4, reportedly split after the No Doubt singer learned Rossdale was cheating on her with their nanny.

Although Stefani eventually found love with Shelton, she is allegedly worried about what the engagement announcement could do to her sons after watching their parents divorce.

“Blake has always wanted to marry Gwen, but she’s always been extremely cautious because she has three kids to be mindful of,” a source told Us Weekly.

Even though the “Hollaback Girl” singer wants to take things slow, the insider revealed Stefani and Shelton “are going to be announcing their engagement very soon.”

News of the couple’s upcoming engagement comes after Stefani’s December interview on the “Today” show, where she revealed her relationship with Shelton was in a great place.

“There is zero pressure … when there’s trauma, the way that we had trauma back in the day,” she said, reflecting on past relationships.

“Going through all these hard times, [you] get to a place where you find somebody that’s like your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and go through life — we’re just trying to be in the moment as much as we can.”
